-

-
Vanguard Security Systems, a local team. We design and install camera systems for homes, businesses and construction sites in Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview and Shediac, and across Southern New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. We assess the property, install and aim the cameras, and set up the mobile app.
-
Our cameras use artificial intelligence to detect and tell apart people, vehicles and animals, so you get useful alerts on your phone instead of alerts for passing headlights or blowing leaves. Depending on the system, they can also read license plates and flag package deliveries. The AI processing happens on the camera or the local recorder, not on a third-party cloud.
-
On site, on hardware you own. A network video recorder (NVR) keeps a longer history, and microSD cards in the cameras cost less for shorter retention. No third-party cloud server holds your video, and you decide who has access. You can watch live or review footage from the mobile app.
-
Yes. Our systems record and store footage locally, so cameras work without an internet connection. For remote properties, construction sites or places without reliable service, we also offer cellular and satellite-connected options so you can check in from anywhere. Third-party cellular data fees could apply.
-
It depends on the spot. Wired PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras use one cable for power and video, with no Wi-Fi interference, so we recommend them for permanent installations. Wi-Fi cameras are easier to install where running a cable is hard, but they depend on signal strength.
-
Yes. We work with businesses, rental properties, construction sites, warehouses and multi-unit buildings. Each system is designed around your layout, coverage needs and priorities, from a few cameras to a system across several buildings.
Alarm systems
-
We install Ajax wireless alarm systems: door and window contacts, indoor and outdoor motion detectors, glass break detectors, keypads and sirens, all managed by the Ajax Hub 2 Plus. Every signal is encrypted, and the system detects jamming and tampering attempts.
-
Yes. The Hub 2 Plus connects over Ethernet with dual SIM cellular backup, and it keeps working during power outages.
-
Our indoor motion detectors are pet-immune: they are designed to ignore animals up to 20 kg and react to people.
-
You get an instant notification in the Ajax app with the device, the room and the time. You can manage your system yourself from the app, or add monitoring by our operators for 24/7 dispatch.
-
Yes. The Ajax Hub 2 Plus manages intrusion, fire and water protection in one encrypted system, with up to 200 connected devices, all in one app.
Fire and carbon monoxide
-
We install the Ajax FireProtect 2. One version detects smoke, abnormal heat and carbon monoxide in a single ceiling-mounted device; another detects smoke and heat. You get an alert on your phone that tells you which room, which detector and what type of threat.
-
The FireProtect 2 uses the HazeFlow 2 algorithm, which is designed to tell smoke apart from steam and dust, to cut down on false alarms.
-
Yes. The detectors are interconnected: when one detects a threat, every siren in the home sounds together.
-
Very little. They test themselves, the smoke chamber is dust-proof, the battery lasts up to 7 years, and you get a low battery alert 30 days ahead.
Water leak protection
-
Leak sensors watch for water around your home. When one detects a leak, the Ajax WaterStop, a motorized valve on your main water line, closes on its own in under 2 seconds and you get an alert on your phone. The valve comes in ½, ¾ and 1 inch sizes.
-
Anywhere water can leak: under the sink, behind the washer, near the water heater. The sensors are 17 mm thin, slide under appliances and need no wiring.
-
Yes. The valve runs on battery during a power outage, and the hub has cellular backup.
-
Yes. Once the leak is fixed, you can reopen the valve from the Ajax app, from anywhere.
Access control
-
Intercoms, access readers, keypads, fobs, smart locks and gates. We often install Ubiquiti and Ajax equipment.
-
Yes, with a Ubiquiti UniFi setup: access control, network and cameras are managed in one interface with one login. For other brands, we go over the options during the assessment.
-
Yes, for residential, commercial and industrial properties in Moncton, Dieppe, Shediac and across our service area.
-
It depends on the building. We book an in-person assessment, then give you a free quote.
Mobile surveillance towers and construction sites
-
A camera-topped tower that guards a site around the clock. It runs on solar or regular power, connects over cellular, and uses flashing lights, sirens and live monitoring by our operators.
-
With video alarm verification. When the tower detects activity, our operators check the video and, if needed, dispatch the authorities or an on-site patrol.
-
Yes. We rent mobile surveillance towers for construction sites in Greater Moncton and across our service area. They also suit auto lots, events, vacant and seasonal property, yards and equipment storage, and they can be moved as the site changes.
-
No. It runs on solar or regular power and connects over cellular, so it needs no wiring or internet on site.
-
Pricing depends on your site, the tower type (solar or powered) and the rental length. We build a custom quote for your site.
Video doorbells
-
Yes. We install video doorbells in Moncton and across our service area, usually as part of a camera or security system. Ask about it when you book your free assessment.
Monitoring and photo or video verification
-
No. No Monthly Fees Required: you can manage your systems yourself from the app. If you want someone to respond for you around the clock, our operators can monitor your system 24/7. That is the only case where a monthly fee applies.
-
Alarm systems, fire detection (smoke, heat and carbon monoxide), water leak protection, cameras and panic buttons. Access control isn't monitored.
-
When a sensor trips, your cameras capture the scene and our operators check the photo or video before a response goes out.
-
Everywhere in our service area: Southern New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
-
Monitoring terms depend on your setup. We go over them with you during the free quote.
